Our

Story

RISE UP.

It started with a closed door—and a wide-open need. In 2020, everything changed. Schools shut down, facilities closed, and organized sports across Moncton were brought to a standstill. For many young athletes, the rhythm of training, connection, and competition was suddenly out of reach. The options that remained were few and far between.

That’s when Andrew Trites and Nate Horsman stepped up. They found a building with a gym floor, signed the lease, and created a space where kids could keep playing—even as most of the city was forced to press pause. In the middle of rolling shutdowns, TH Sports Group became one of the only consistent spaces where youth could train, grow, and stay connected through sport.

What started as a response to a crisis quickly became something more. It wasn’t just about having a gym. It was about creating opportunity when it was hardest to find. It was about stepping into the gap and offering structure, consistency, and community when kids needed it most.

That mindset—that commitment to rising through challenge—is what continues to drive everything we do.

OUR LEGACY OF LEADERSHIP STARTS AT THE TOP.

Andrew Trites

Co-Founder, TH Sports Group

Andrew Trites is a community-first leader, coach, and the co-founder of TH Sports Group: an organization built on the belief that sport has the power to change lives.

A passionate advocate for youth, Andrew’s journey in leadership began long before TH Sports Group was founded.  With a professional background in corporate health care and years of experience in community volunteering, he brings a unique mix of business acumen, heart, and hustle to everything he touches.

In 2020, when public spaces shut down and sports programs were cancelled, Andrew and co-founder Nate Horsman saw what was at stake: kids were losing access to the game they loved, the structure of sport, mentorship and the connection that came with it. Refusing to accept that reality, they leased a building and opened a sports facility so youth could keep playing. That bold decision sparked the creation of TH Sports Group, now a hub for year-round basketball skill development and character-building for youth across New Brunswick.

Andrew’s role goes far beyond operations. He’s in the gym coaching, checking in with families and ensuring that every athlete who walks through the door knows they matter. His vision is clear: TH Sports Group isn’t just about basketball or sport.  It’s about creating a safe, consistent environment where kids learn discipline, leadership, and teamwork: on and off the court.

As TH Sports Group grows, Andrew is focused on expanding its reach, building partnerships, and creating long-term opportunities for youth through sport. He believes that with the right support, today’s athletes become tomorrow’s leaders and he’s here to make sure they have every chance to succeed.

Nate Horsman

Elevating Basketball and Community in New Brunswick

Nate Horsman has become a driving force in New Brunswick’s basketball community, making a lasting impact through his leadership as Managing Partner of TH Sports Group and Program Director of 506 Elite Basketball. His commitment to player development has not only raised the level of basketball in the region but has also created life-changing opportunities for young athletes.

Through 506 Elite Basketball, Horsman has built a program that nurtures talent at all levels, ensuring that local athletes receive elite coaching, high-performance training, and access to competitive platforms that were previously out of reach. His efforts have helped young players develop their skills, gain exposure, and pursue opportunities in higher-level basketball, including collegiate programs.

Beyond coaching, Horsman plays a vital role in fostering a strong basketball culture in the community. He collaborates with an extensive coaching pool to lead summer camps that provide young athletes with top-tier instruction and mentorship. These camps not only improve skills but also build confidence and resilience in players from all backgrounds.

His vision extends beyond the court, as seen in development of  a 15,000-square-foot basketball facility in Irishtown. This project represents a long-term investment in the community, creating a space where athletes can train, compete, and grow in a supportive environment.

Through his leadership, Horsman has transformed basketball in New Brunswick, providing young athletes with opportunities to succeed while strengthening the community’s connection to the sport. His work continues to inspire the next generation, ensuring that basketball remains a powerful force for growth, teamwork, and excellence.
